Last update (April 06)
Since we did not have the time to cover everything today (April 06), the vocab on "The Brain Drain from Africa" will be up to the middle of page 5 ( ie "cut off") , the rest remains unchanged (see below).

Dear students,
Last Friday, I forgot to give you the transcript of the next report we are going to work on which is from the BBC World Service and titled "The Brain Drain from Africa". Please prepare it for next Friday (April 06). The copies of the transcript were given and distributed at Mrs THOM's class today. If, for one reason or another, you did not get it, you can always retrieve it from this blog. Listen carefully and several times, check the vocabulary and start learning it.
As said last Friday, there will be a short vocab test (20 minutes maximum) on April 13. It will count for 15% of the continuous assessment grade.
The short vocab test on April 13 will cover:
- Vocabulary:
- audio reports: Aborigines in Australia / PBS Muslims / Tony Blair and Slavery / The Brain Drain from Africa
- three articles: Taseer / Said / Sen
Reminders:
- make sure you arrive on time or in advance as there will be no catch-up session whatsoever even if you have a valid reason.
- Second main exam which will also be the Final Exam for those students in this case: May 18
- Second Short Vocab test: May 25. There will be "bonus" questions (extra points) based on the vocab lists (Chapters 50, 51 and 52).
Should you have any questions, email me.
Best regards,
MN
