Message for the M1 students

Dear students, 

As I told you last Friday, those of you who like to attend my TOEIC classes are required to email me as I can accept only a few more people because of the small size of the room. 

The lessons take place in Room 40 at the following address: 

29 rue Bourseault 

75017 Paris 

Metro: ROME

Group 1: from 9 to 11 (weak to average level - 8 lessons remaining)

Group 2 (strong level - 3 lessons remaining)

Reminder: Attendance rules for all HCEAI students (M1 and M2 sections)

Attendance is compulsory for those who are in "contrôle continu": if you are absent 3 times (ie 2+1) for unjustified reasons, if you cannot provide me with a valid and sincere justification, you will be automatically registered in "contrôle final".

Those of you who would like to be in "contrôle final", I recommend that you come and talk to me about this at the end or at the beginning of a class or send me an email about this as soon as possible. 

 

In case you fail to be present for a class session (for justified or unjustified reason), you will have to do all the exercises from a unit/chapter of your choice from the grammar textbook (Advanced Grammar in Use by Hewings). You will have to hand in these exercises the following class otherwise you will get a zero. This assignment must be handwritten NOT typed. 

In "contrôle continu", in case you fail to be present at one of the two main exam sessions, you will be automatically registered in "contrôle final" even if you have a valid and sincere justification.

In "contrôle continu", if you have no valid and sincere justification for your possible absence for the short tests and quizzes that will also take place during the semester, you will get a zero.

There will be no catch-up session whatsoever, even if you have a valid and sincere justification.

 

All my students are required to check this website on a regular basis (at least twice a week) and before coming to class.

Message for the M2 students / Homework for next class (November 09)

Dear M2 students,

HOMEWORK FOR NOV 09

- False Friends: ex # 4 and # 5

- Phrasal Verbs: pages  3 and 4

- Gram: ex # 3.2 and ex # 4.3 + carefully read the explanations from your textbook (Advanced Grammar in Use by Hewings)

- Audio report "The Cost of Cotton": listen carefully, check the vocabulary and start learning it

- Governement and Politics: page 5 (revise the previous pages)

NOV 16: There will be ashort test on 

- the Phrasal Verbs (1, 2, 3 & 4)

- Government and Politics (5 pages)

- False Friends (ex 1, 2 and 3)

Nov 23: there will be a short test in Grammar (revise all the grammar chapters and exercises done up to Nov 16 included)

First main exam: Nov 30 (everything done up to Nov 23 included)
