My absence tomorrow (March 25)

Dear M1 students,

As a result of the death today of a (very) close relative aged 65 and because the burial ceremonies will take place tomorrow, I will not be able to have class tomorrow (March 25). I hope you will all understand that, under these kinds of circumstances, I cannot be available for class and exam tomorrow.

Consequently, everything planned for tomorrow is postponed for next week/class session ie April 01 and the First Main Exam is postponed to April 08.

The dates for the remaining exams remain unchanged.

I sincerely apologize again for my absence for tomorrow's class and exam (March 25).

Very best regards,

MN

Mock Test on March 18 (Listening comprehension) / First short Test on March 25 (REMINDER)

Dear M1 students,

Do not pay attention to the sections 1 & 2 of the audio file I've just uploaded on the Listening comprehension folder named "MOCK TEST MARCH 18 SECTION 3 & 4"

Just be trained for the sections 3 and 4. I've also uploaded the transcript corresponding to these sections 3 and 4.
- Section 3 begins from 15 min30 onwards
- Section 4 begins from 22 min 30 onwards
Can you prepare the vocabulary of these recordings' transcript (Section 3 and 4) for next week as homework?

This vocabulary will not be included in your next week's exam but it will be included in the First Main Exam which will take place the following week.

For next week, the short test will cover:
- vocabulary: Test 3, Test 1 and "Midbury Drama Club" (Sections 1 and 2 of the transcript)
- there will be no grammar exercises or translations (that will be for the First Main Exam ie the following week)
- there will be a "section 3" type of listening like we did today ie:
- you will hear an unknown recording first without the questions (you will have to take down extensive notes while listening)
-  you will then hear the same recording a second time with the questions
Students who will miss next week's exam will automatically be registered as "contrôle final" students unless they can provide me with a valid and sincere justification.

Should you need clarifications, email me as soon as possible. Send me a second email/reminder if you do not get a reply from me within 2 days.

Best regards,

MN

 REMINDERS:
1/ There will be no catch-up session whatsoever even if you have a valid and sincere justification.
2/ Please, do arrive on time if not in advance!

M1 GROUP: MY ABSENCE ON FEB 04, 2014

Dear M1 students,

I've been sick and extremely tired for the past 2-3 weeks and I haven't completely recovered. I sincerely apologize for my absence tomorrow morning (Feb 04).

As a result of my sickness, I haven't been able to post your grades on this blog as I had told you before the Christmas holidays. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and, hopefully, we will start our first class of the 2 semester next week ie on February 11.

Reminder about the "holiday homework":

Do prepare as much as possible and do as many exercises as possible using the audio files I had given to the M2 group during the first semester.

So as to be prepared as best as possible, once you've done the listening exercises, check your answers and compare them with the corrections that are available on the M2 Listening Comprehension folder. You should not listen to the audio files more than twice.

My sincere apologies again for my absence tomorrow and very best regards,

MN
