M1 and M2 classes cancelled tomorrow ie on November 26, 2013

Dear M1 and M2 students, 

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to have class tomorrow, which means the English class for M1 and M2 groups is cancelled on November 26 and everything is postponed to next week ie December 03.

- Idioms (Animals): the whole page on "Animals"

- There will be a short listening comprehension exercise: you will hear it twice only.

M1 Class - 1st Main Exam: Nov 12 - Program of revisions

This first main exam, which counts for 30% of your semester's continuous assessment grade,  will last around 80 minutes and, since there is a class at 10 am, we must leave at around 9:55 am maximum.

The exam will cover everything done so far this first semester:

- Reading comprehension: there will be an unknown text with questions

- Vocabulary from the reading comprehension texts:

- America's oldest art

- Pottery production at Akrotiri

- History of advertising

- Networking

- Recovering a damaged reputation

- Media vocabulary: the whole handout

- False friends: exercises 1, 2 and 3

- Grammar in translation (from French into English): the sentences will be adapted from the chapter 38 (left and right pages)

M2 students: as I said last Tuesday, I won't be able to have class in the afternoon, if possible, we will try to catch  up some time during the semester. Next class: Oct 22.

M1 "contrôle continu" students will have: 

 - 2 main exams (around 80 minutes):

          - 1st main exam: 30%

         - 2nd main exam: 40%, the 2nd Main Exam is scheduled for

          December 10

 - 2 short tests (around 20 minutes): 15% each, the 2nd Short Test is

    scheduled for  December 17

M1 "contrôle final" students 

M1 Students who wish to be in "contrôle final" will take the "contrôle continu" students' 2nd main exam scheduled for December 10

M2 "contrôle continu" students will have:

           - 2 main exams (around 80 minutes):

          - 1st main exam: 30%

         - 2nd main exam: 40%, the 2nd Main Exam is scheduled for

         December 10

 - 2 short tests (around 20 minutes): 15% each, the 2nd Short Test is

              scheduled for  December 17
